Michael Anastassiades

After studying civil engineering, Anastassiades pursued his Master’s in Design at the Royal College of Art. He founded his studio in 1994. His creations are regarded as industrial furniture, design objects, art, and sculpture. Unlike many designers, he draws inspiration from jewelry. He is best known for his geometric lighting designs made with reflective materials such as glass or polished bronze, which account for 80% of his studio’s projects. In 2007, he established a company under his own name to focus on producing his lights in unlimited editions, handcrafted.

He collaborates with renowned architects on hotels, restaurants, and boutiques worldwide.

The timelessness and innovation of his designs have earned him exhibitions at MoMA, the MAK in Vienna, and the V&A in London. He was also named Designer of the Year 2020 by Maison & Objet in Paris.

His lighting designs are published by Flos.
