Through our showrooms in Nice, Cannes, Monaco and Marseille, Bel Œil presents an exacting vision of interior architecture. Molteni&C’s creations naturally find their place within it, enriching compositions of rare elegance, where every technical and aesthetic detail has its own reason for being.
The history of this Lombard design house reads like a great industrial and human story. It began in 1934, driven by the visionary spirit of Angelo Molteni. In his workshop, he cultivated an unconditional love of wood and the precision of the perfect gesture. His exacting craftsmanship soon encountered the beginnings of the avant-garde. It marked the dawn of the golden age of Italian design. The great master Gio Ponti found an extraordinary new field of expression there. He designed iconic pieces that are now carefully preserved in the Molteni Museum and meticulously reissued to transcend the passing of time.
Over the decades, contemporary genius has spectacularly enriched this heritage. From Jean Nouvel to Foster + Partners, some of the brightest minds in international architecture have collaborated with the manufacturer.
Today, Flemish architect Vincent Van Duysen holds the reins of the brand’s creative direction. His refined vision, intensely focused on the warmth of materials and the precision of proportions, resonates particularly strongly with our work creating complete interiors on the French Riviera.
Our affection for this institution is expressed most notably through the design of its kitchen environments. Heirs to the virtuosity of the historic Dada brand, which joined the group in the late 1960s, Molteni&C kitchens embody the pinnacle of the art of living. They dissolve traditional boundaries, opening majestically onto reception and living spaces. Blond walnut, rare marbles and textured metals perfectly echo the finishes of the collection’s sumptuous bookcases and sophisticated dressing rooms.
