New display at Bel Œil in Nice!

This autumn, we’re delighted to welcome the vibrant works of Cédric Teisseire. His paintings disrupt the curated ambiance of our showroom, offering a fresh perspective and reimagining our spaces—much to our visitors’ delight!

Here’s an excerpt from Catherine Macchi’s text, shedding light on Cédric’s practice:
“In his painting, Cédric Teisseire employs simple, systematic protocols that reveal an intelligence of abstraction while creating distance between the work and its author. His techniques—dripping paint with a syringe or pouring it directly from the can onto the surface—appear almost mechanical. The syringe’s drip, like a remedy administered to painting (an art form often declared dead), or the excess lacquer drying like aged skin, are gestures partly surrendered to chance. By letting the process unfold autonomously, the artist sheds subjectivity and asserts painting’s ‘cooling.’
Yet from this detachment emerge, curiously, sumptuous contemporary icons that reinterpret abstract and minimalist art with supreme elegance, reclaiming a kind of aura.”

A graduate of Villa Arson and co-founder of La Station in Nice (where he remains active), Teisseire previously exhibited with us in Cannes in 2011. We’re thrilled to revisit this collaboration in our Nice showroom through early November!
