Discreet elegance according to Charlotte Perriand
Charlotte Perriand designed the Doron Hotel armchair in 1947 for the Doron hotel in Méribel-les-Allues. She sought the perfect armchair for long fireside evenings: lightweight, sturdy and incredibly comfortable. Nearly 80 years later, it remains one of the most perfectly balanced seats ever created. Cassina has faithfully reissued it since 2013, signing each one.
Solid walnut and brown full-grain leather
The entire structure comes from a single block of hand-sculpted solid oiled walnut. The gentle curves of the armrests and backrest are inspired by the skis of the time. The seat and backrest feature thick cushions in brown full-grain leather with vegetable tanning, which patinates beautifully. The leather breathes, relaxes and develops a cognac hue over time.
Deep comfort, timeless line
Sit down and the armchair envelops you instantly. The slightly inclined backrest, low seat (H 38 cm) and perfectly positioned armrests create a natural cocoon. With dimensions of 67 × 68 × H 76 cm, it fits anywhere: by a fireplace, in an office, at the end of a dining table or at the foot of a bed.
Immediate warmth in any interior
The walnut and brown leather warm a contemporary living room, modern chalet or Haussmann apartment. It dialogues with white, beige, black or forest green. From the front, it asserts a gentle presence; from the back, its line remains impeccable. The Doron Hotel armchair by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina ages better than any other.
A living classic since 1947
Each example leaves Cassina’s workshops numbered and authenticated. Charlotte Perriand wanted a seat “honest and without fuss”: she succeeded. You are buying a piece of alpine design history that remains as current as ever.
