Here is a beautiful story that has rarely been told until now: the story of Bel Œil and Hôtel du Couvent in Nice…

We followed this magnificent hotel project from its earliest stages, alongside our friends and clients and the architects behind it. Along the way, Bel Œil stepped beyond its usual field of expertise… developing bespoke furniture pieces that were both unconventional and entirely unique.

Only a limited number of pieces, perhaps, but we are particularly proud to have brought Vico Magistretti’s Carimate chair back from the archives and encouraged Fritz Hansen to reissue it, in agreement with the estate of the great Milanese master…

…as well as to have developed a contemporary rug inspired by an antique Chinese carpet, which we sourced for the project’s show room. The new design was produced with great care and patience by the French rug house Toulemonde Bochart…

And finally, to have begun a new collaboration with Maison Louis Drucker, the renowned French manufacturer of terrace furniture, in order to find the ideal chairs for the terraces of the Couvent…

Many months of dialogue and creative exchange with the architects at Festen and the client, Valéry Grégo, ultimately allowed us to contribute, in our own modest way, to this remarkable project: Hôtel du Couvent in Nice, now regarded as a true reference in luxury hospitality.

THANK YOU for this new adventure, which continues a 20-year history of hospitality projects created together!
