E1027 Pedestal – CLASSICON
Design Eileen Grey, 1927
Dim: 52xH55/93cm – Chrome structure – glass top
E-1027 is a reissue of the table designed by Eileen Gray in 1927 for her villa in Roquebrune.
In 1924, in collaboration with the Romanian architect Jean Badovici, Eileen Gray began work on the house E-1027. Responsible for its furnishings, she created this very innovative table for the time. Luxury gives way to simplicity and a useful form. The glass top is adjustable in height thanks to a sliding foot. Eileen Gray is one of the first to use tubular steel structures with Marcel Breuer, Gerrit Rietveld and Charlotte Perriand. Created in 1927, this E1027 table surprises with its modernity: it could be a creation of today.
Reissued as a “Design classic” for almost 40 years, it is an adjustable piece of furniture, useful and adapted to the modern space.
This side table is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York!
