Pascal Pinaud Exhibition

Painter Pascal Pinaud Painter Exhibition – Concrete Art Space

– december 2016

“It’s up to you …” Pascal Pinaud invited us to contribute to the exhibition and design the layout of spaces to visit at the Chateau de Mouans Sartoux … a generous and powerful act of the artist who dares to coexist his works with those of artist friends such as Christmas Dolla, Mathieu Mercier, Natacha Lesueur Xavier Theunis with common objects and furniture: the decoration is not very far !

The dialogue resulting from the new or vintage design pieces and artwork is disruptive to the visitor accustomed to museums, who finally end up in domestic spaces. Concrete Art Space  becomes a place of private life, with its kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and office, as if the artist has lived here a long time …

Alexander Curtet: “I was delighted to discover Pascal and his work during this project, and to intervene under his benevolent authority: it is ultimately a strong step in our efforts to link art and design into everyday life, and for these elements to live together, without competition but rather in complementarity. We find “the Museum” has been a great experience, humility in the face of artworks and places, and the joy of being able to associate them with our familiar furniture. “

The Concrete Art Space exhibition had mirrored a retrospective exhibition of Pascal Pinaud at the Fondation Maeght (and before the third exhibition at the FRAC Marseille): an impressive series for a quality artist of whom Bel Œil has finally acquired an artwork for our collection

The participation of Bel Œil (Loft at the time!) in this project was done with the support of Knoll France and the Gallerie Harter in Nice, who lent us a set of important pieces by Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Charlotte Perriand and Georges Candilis. We completed the installation with a Bulthaup b2 kitchen, and a few other furniture pieces by Le Corbusier, George Nakashima, Antonio Citterio …

Excellent memories from that great adventure in the winter of 2017: thank you to the artist, and the EAC teams
