Tree One

— Février 2021

At Bel Œil, we love great encounters !
The one with the french designer, Marc Ferrand, working between Nice and Paris, gave us some great discoveries …

Bel Œil exhibits Tree One, in Nice.

Tree One is a limited series of three exceptional tables. A single tree of remarkable dimensions allowed the production of these parts. An Atlas cedar, dating from the end of the 19th century and coming from the mountains of the French Riviera, in the town of Saint-Martin Vésubie.

Huge massive plateaus, one piece, were extracted from this tree. The woods were then dried and preserved for several years before their implementation by the designer and a cabinet maker luthier.
The project is a reflection on matter and geometry, it is an abstraction of nature. Each table is unique, made up of a unique piece of wood. Tree One is a work to be lived, an experience of extraordinary natural matter.

Marc Ferrand designs, develops and publishes design projects, nomadic and temporary architecture.
He also works with the architect Shigeru Ban since 2006 on nomadic architectures and industrial design. He was notably in charge of the Hermès pavilion in Milan, the nomadic Camper pavilion for Volvo Ocean Race, the Shiseido pavilion for the Venice Biennale of the Arts, the Artek pavilion for the Milan furniture fair, the Paper Tower for the London Design Festival.

Bel Oeil will soon present a new project by Marc Ferrand, a project inspired by the surrounding shores.
The Mediterranean Stones series, limited edition, a research on the unique and its double, each pebble is reproduced in gold or bronze thanks to a wax casting. All unique pieces, inspired by nature, to wear or to contemplate.

Bel Œil likes to show its visitors exceptional pieces linked to know-how and materials …

See you soon !
